Become a Mindful Eating Coach 

The Training for Mindful Eating Coaching offers many unique features and life-changing benefits for you and your clients and patients. It provides everything you need to get started integrate mindful eating into your one-on-one coaching work.
If you are a health and wellness professional with formal coach training or coaching experience, the Am I Hungry? Training for Mindful Eating Coaching will give you the skills, tools, and confidence to help your clients or patients change their lifestyle permanently. (Please note: General coaching skills are beyond the scope of this training. We provide mindful eating training for health professionals with previous coach training or strong coaching skills; we do not provide basic coach training.)

Provides necessary structure using the Mindful Eating Cycle

The format of the training follows the Am I Hungry? Mindful Eating Cycle to progressively build awareness of why, when, what, how, and how much you eat, and where you invest your energy. The Mindful Eating Cycle is a practical decision-making model that provides the necessary structure for you and your clients or patients to recognize and resolve problematic eating behaviors.

Mindfulness-based

Mindfulness is simply awareness of the present moment without judgment. Guiding your clients and patients to become more aware of their physical state, thoughts, feelings, and actions in the here and now not only helps them better understand why they do what they do, it gives them the opportunity to choose their actions (response-ability) rather than continue to react out of habit (re-act out the past). With mindful eating, instead of trying to stay in control then subsequently feeling out of control, individuals learn to be in charge of their decisions. 

Non-restrictive philosophy

Whether you call it intuitive eating, mindful eating, or the non-diet approach, Am I Hungry? utilizes a non-restrictive methodology that promotes the fearless enjoyment of food without restriction, deprivation, or guilt.

Consistent with a Health at Every Size® paradigm

Am I Hungry? is a weight neutral approach that focuses on sustainable lifestyle changes. (While participants may lose weight through this process, we consider it a possible side-effect of healing their relationship with food and their body, not the primary reason to participate in the program.)

Adaptable to clients and patients with different needs

Am I Hungry? trainings utilize a variety of adult-learning methods to keep clients and patients curious, engaged, and evolving. The training content employs a balance of auditory, visual, and kinesthetic techniques that compliment a range of learning styles and each session is designed to be highly interactive and experiential. The flow of the training sessions from one to the next is logical and progressive, designed to help you inspire changes in behavior, increase self-efficacy of your clients and patients, and promote autonomous decision-making that is respectful of individuals’ preferences, lifestyle, and experiences.
