Deb’s Story: I am kinder to myself

I'm much kinder to myself.

Deb had participated in diet culture since the age of 12. Many decades later, Deb’s mother was in hospice and refused to eat more than a single piece of chocolate for fear of weight gain. At that moment, Deb decided she didn’t want her dying days to be consumed by food.

When a dietitian recommended Am I Hungry?, it was like a light bulb for Deb. In this video, Deb describes how, as she became more mindful with her eating, she became more present, kinder to herself, and less perfectionistic.

Learning to make decisions about her eating more mindfully led to more mindfulness in other areas of her life too. “Everything now has color around it!”
